Debra D. Lubahn
Debra Dee (Kuisle) Lubahn age 51, was called home to meet her Lord on Thursday, September 12 after a 2 year battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born March 31, 1962 in Rochester, MN daughter of Ralph & Virginia (Dee) Kuisle of Byron, MN.  She graduated from Byron High School in 1980 and then from Rochester Junior College in 1982 as a Registered Nurse.  After graduation she was employed by St Marys Hospital on 3 Mary Brigh (rehab) and was blessed with 30 years of service.
She met her future husband Kenneth in May of 1986 and was married to her love on October 10th, 1987. They lived in Byron for 11 years and then moved to their present home north of Douglas.
Deb was baptized, confirmed, and married at Christ the King Catholic church in Byron and later changed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester. She was very involved with Sunday School and Vacation Bible School both as a teacher and then as Sunday School Superintendent.  After retiring as Superintendent she still stayed very active with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and also with the Junior High & Senior High youth programs. She loved helping the youth and seeing them grow in their faith and love for their Lord Jesus.  Deb loved her family immensely and was always there to help and partake in whatever  needed to be done; be it milking cows with Ralph and Don, installing new steel roofing on the barn, building an addition on a house, or enjoying activities with the nieces/nephews. She never seemed to tire and was always smiling. Deb also became close to a Sudanese family that came to Trinity and enjoyed teaching, leading, and just spending time with the children as they grew and parents as they adjusted to their new country.
Survivors include her husband Kenneth E. Lubahn,  her father & mother Ralph & Virginia Kuisle of Byron, sisters Rosemary (Tim) Schmerbeck of Kasson & Beverly (Leroy) Kaehler of Kasson, brothers Don (Pam) Kuisle of Byron & Dale (Karen) Kuisle of Byron. Nieces & nephews;  Ken, Michelle, Kelly, Samantha,  Christine, David, Ryan (Laura May), & Laura Kuisle,  Katie & Shawn Schmerbeck, Kimberly (Mike) Grossmann; and great niece Amira Kuisle.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 18th at 11:00AM, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 222 6th Avenue SW, Rochester, MN, with Pastor William Otte & Pastor Joel Haack officiating. Visitation with family will be Tuesday evening at Ranfranz Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and also 1 hour prior to the service at Trinity. The Rosary will be held at 8:15 PM Tuesday evening in the Chapel at Ranfranz.
If desired, three Memorial Funds have been established in Deb’s name (donor’s choice): Trinity Youth Program, Christ The King Catholic Church, or Rochester Central Lutheran School.

God's mercy and peace be with you all in these hours of sorrow, not for Deb, but for us who remain here until our time comes. We will see her again when we meet in heaven and your joy will be in knowing that God keeps his promises and has prepared a place for all those who believe. I'm sorry that I can't be with you and your family at the service for Deb, as I will be on vacation. God be with you all!

The faith that Deb had in our Lord Jesus Christ was evident throughout her life! What a privilege it was for us to work along side her at Trinity Lutheran Church. May the Lord wrap His arms around you to comfort you and remind you that His promises are faithful and true! Jesus says, "I Am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die." (John 11:25-26)

I have known Deb since 2009 when I met her at my sisters house. Deb is a very caring and loving person who was always passionate about everything she did and only wanted to help everyone and did so with the love of Jesus in her heart. Deb taught my nieces and nephews about Christ and his love for us, she would take them to vacation bible school, she would also take the elders to early morning church service and bible study shortly after. She also took care of our family, cooked for us, bough us groceries, helped the children with their school assignments and many more, she was truly an Angel from above. She was always happy and will be missed dearly. We love her and we will miss her smile her laugh, her helpful advice and just being around her, the children, our families and the many more people she may not have known but helped. Deb is a part of our family, she was our heart and soul & as we pray for her, I know she is up in heaven praying for us. God bless her family she has left behind and God Bless you Deb.

Kenny and family,
Our prayers are with you at this most difficult time. Look to the Lord and lean on Him when these things don't make sense. Trust Him and He will comfort you. To lose two beautiful women in your family in such a short time makes grief hard to bear. Please know others care are holding you up in prayer. Don is "up north" fishing with the boys but I will try to be at the funeral. I always admired how you and Deb worked together. No grass grew under your feet! If it did, your Dad mowed it!!

Kevin Pike and the Pike boys.

Today the world lost somebody very special. I (We0 knew her as aunt Deb. She took care of my brothers and I when we were younger. She was strong in her faith and I never saw her without a smile on her face. I will miss you Deb Lubahn. I will meet you in heaven someday.

Deb's passing will leave a massive empty spot in all the lives that she was an integral part of as she was an angel sent from the Father above and a true blessing to us all.

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yoursleves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12: 10-13

I think these verses speak of Deb in the way she faced life and giving of herself to others with the Love of the Lord shining in her smiling face.
