Beverly Jean Flaten

Beverly Jean (Culbertson) Flaten, age 83, of El Cajon, CA passed away on September 5, 2023 at home with her family by her side. She had been diagnosed with Lung Cancer six weeks prior.

Beverly was born on September 25, 1939 to Francis and Dorothy Culbertson in Rochester, MN. She attended District #127 grades 1-8 and then attended Rochester High School, graduating in 1957. She worked for various restaurants including Michael’s Supper Club.

Beverly is survived by one sister, Carrie (Bonnie) Olson, of Rochester, MN; daughter, Cindy Poynor (Randy), of Santee, CA; two grandsons, 2 granddaughters, South Carolina; four great granddaughters, Santee, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sons.

A celebration of life was held on September 17, 2023, in El Cajon, CA. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude and cancer research.

She and her husband will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester, MN in the Culbertson family plot later this year.
