Beverly Jean Washburn (Ibach), age 97, passed away peacefully on July 23rd, 2024 in Rochester MN. She was born on July 1, 1927, in the same city, to Ray E. and Ada B. (Wurtzler) Ibach.
Beverly graduated from Rochester High School in 1945. She attended the Assembly of God church in Rochester, MN, with her devoted husband Frannie. She led a fulfilling career as a secretary at Bell Telephone Company for 18 years before retiring early so that she and Frannie could travel and make a home in Arizona. They later returned to Rochester to be with family.
Known for her love of games, Beverly was an avid player of Bingo, Bunco, Pokeno and various card games which she enjoyed in the company of friends and family especially her late-night games with her sister Barbara. Her hobbies also included knitting, sewing and cross-stitch, coloring and reading, activities that reflected her gentle and peaceful nature. Beverly had a sweet tooth and enjoyed ice cream and treats, or really any treat, often while watching her favorite shows on the Game Show Network.
She is survived by her loving family including her sister Barbara Ward; daughters Holly (Vern) Larkin and Kelly King (Dave Smith); stepdaughter Janet (Jim) Lang; granddaughters Kristen (Gregg) Gabriel, Joelle (Leif) Syverson, Alison Lang Shoemaker (Dave), Heather Lang Schuller (Peter), Jennifer Lang, Greg (Kelly) Lang, Sarah Trygstad (Sam Ghareeb), Meredith (Phil) Haney, Jada King, Kassie (Adam) Hoyer, and numerous great grandchildren.
Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francis C. Washburn; her father Ray E. Ibach; her mother, Ada B. Uhl; siblings Kenneth P. Ibach and Diane R. Maki; and stepson, Francis J. Washburn, DDS.
Beverly will be remembered fondly for her warm presence, her joy in simple pleasures, and the love she shared with those around her. Her legacy of kindness and family devotion will continue to live on through her descendants.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to her care team at Mayo Clinic Palliative Care Rochester Methodist Hospital.
There will be a private family burial Friday July 26th, 2024.
