Bruce Anthony Lisko

July 18, 1939 — April 26, 2026

Bruce Anthony Lisko, age 86, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away on April 26, 2026, at Madonna Towers Skilled Nursing Facility in Rochester.

He was born in Minneapolis on July 18, 1939, and grew up in Red Wing with his parents Anthony and Mildred Lisko. He attended schools in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from 1960-1965 aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock and the submarine US Pickerel, touring the Pacific Ocean and the Far East.

Bruce married Sandra Ulstad on January 18, 1964. When Bruce returned from active duty with the Navy, he and Sandy lived their remaining 62 years of marriage in Rochester.

He attended Rochester Junior College before beginning his career in retail, working several years at O&B Shoes and then became a co-owner of LA Footwear at Apache Mall in Rochester. Bruce was a great salesman, fantastic boss and "social director" of the mall. He was known as "the Mayor of the Mall" walking around with his coffee cup, checking things out, and striking up conversations with anyone and everyone. He had the gift of making people laugh and making friends.

After he retired in 2003, he bought his Corvette and he and Sandy began their travels around the country, living life to the fullest.

Bruce will be remembered for his great sense of humor, quick wit and people skills. He never hesitated to help others in need and always accepted and respected the differences in people. He was first and foremost a family man and was extremely proud of his sons and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by Sandy, Tony, Tim, the entire family and numerous friends.

Bruce is survived by his wife Sandy, sons Tony (Brenda) of Rochester and Tim (Malinda) of Byron, two grandchildren, Sam (Katie) of Oceanside, California, and Sarah Rosendahl (Brady) of Rochester, and one great-grandchild, Reese. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Cali Gilbertson, Natasha Woxland, and Kendra Gilbertson, and eight step-great grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Kelly of New York and Mary Kurkjian of Georgia, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents, a niece, five brother-in-laws, one sister-in-law, and a great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday April 30th 2026 and visitation one hour prior to the service. A private family burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Red Wing, MN at a later date.
