Charlotte Marie Saterdalen

Charlotte Marie Saterdalen, age 93, of Rochester, MN, passed away on February 17, 2026, with family by her side.

Charlotte was born on June 28, 1932, in Rochester, MN to parents Charles and Hulda (Miller) Nelson. She attended Northern Elementary School and graduated from Central High School. She then went on to work as a nurse at the State Hospital and Assisi Heights. On March 20, 1953, she married Ralph Berndt in Rochester, and the couple had five children. Ralph passed away in 1992. In 1997, she married Elmer Saterdalen, who later passed away in 2011. Charlotte enjoyed roller skating, crocheting and fishing.

Charlotte is survived by her children, Steven (Terri) Berndt, David (Sue) Berndt, Diane Hockens, Bruce (Peggy) Berndt and Larry Berndt; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; siblings, Charlie (Virginia) Nelson, Kenny (Sandy) Nelson, Roger (Marilyn) Nelson, Gerald Nelson, and RuthAnn Goldsmith. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph and Elmer; and her siblings, Gordon Nelson, Raymond Nelson, Alta Verdick, Donald Nelson and Sandra Nelson, and her grandson James.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW Rochester, MN 55901). A private burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
