Cheryl Elaine Kranz passed away peacefully at Estates of St. Louis Park, St. Louis Park, Minnesota on June 26, 2026 at the age of 80 years.
Cheryl was born on November 2, 1945 in Rochester, Minnesota to Theodore L. Kranz and Bernice (Bishop) Kranz. Cheryl grew up in a happy and large family in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1963 then went on to attend and graduate from Rochester Community College in 1965. While at Rochester Community College, she was active as Feature Editor of ECHO school newspaper, Gramma Rho, Phi Theta Kappa, Rajesters, Delta Psi Omega, Freshman Orientation Counselor, Social Committee and Golden R Award. Cheryl went to the University of Minnesota, attending and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in History/City Planning, in 1967.
Cheryl was hired as Regional Manager at CMG Travel in 1979. Cheryl later was promoted to Vice President of Operations of newly formed Carlson Meetings Division and involved in the Carlson Companies 50th Anniversary in 1988. Cheryl ended her career with Carlson Company in 1992. Cheryl started her own Creative Events company by Kranz from 1992 to 2014. Cheryl lived at the Estates of St. Louis Park, St. Louis Park, Minnesota from July 2020 to her death in June 2026.
Cheryl is survived by her brother, Ray Kranz of Rochester, MN; brother-in-law, Nick Stevens of Prescott, AZ; nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Eugene Kranz and Gordon Kranz; two sisters, Rosemary Stevens and Nancy Ondler.
A Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN) with a visitation from 10:30 AM to the start of the service. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester, MN.
