Christine "Chris" Vogelsang, 81 passed away comfortably with her daughter by her side. Chris was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 12, 1940, to parents Leon and Antionette (Kinsella) Williams. Chris grew up in Detroit where she was very active in dance, swimming, sailing, and clubs throughout her childhood. She attended Michigan State University where she met her husband of over 50 years, Bob Vogelsang. After moving to Missouri and Colorado while Bob was in the Army they moved back to the Detroit, Michigan area to be near family. Chris and Bob had two children, Bob and Julie. The family set down roots in Clawson, MI where Chris and Bob lived until Bob passed away after 50 years in Clawson. Chris was a great mom who always supported her children and was up for doing whatever fun thing her kids suggested. Chris was active in the community coaching girls' baseball, volunteering in the schools and park concession stand, and involved in many activities throughout Clawson. She was very social and enjoyed spending time with her friends. Her friends and family will remember her quit wit and great sense of humor. Chris loved traveling. She spent time exploring Europe, traveling extensively in the US, and spent some time in the Caribbean. Chris took trips that ranged from a weekend to weeks traveling by herself, with family, and with friends. These were some of her greatest memories. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joanne Green, husband Bob, and son Bob. She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Kevin) Pavelko of Rochester, MN; Daughter-in-law, Stacey Feinstein of Parkland, FL; Grandchildren, Garrett and Lauren Pavelko and Hazel and Hudson Vogelsang. Chris' ashes will be interred in Michigan at a later date that will include a memorial gathering to celebrate her life.
