Clifford Prigge

Clifford W. Prigge, age 84, of Rochester, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at his home in Rochester.

Clifford William Prigge was born March 2, 1939 in Rochester, MN the son of Erwin and Gertrude (Peyer) Prigge. He grew up on the family farm in Byron, MN and graduated from Byron High School in 1957. Clifford served in the Rochester National Guard from 1956 to 1963. He was united in marriage to Verona Borgschatz on February 3, 1962 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island, MN. They made their home on the Prigge family farm. In 1983, they moved to Rochester, MN. Clifford worked for Arnold's Supply, Jerome Foods, drove school bus for Byron and Rochester school districts, and was a semi driver for Olson Carriers Inc in Rosemont until his retirement. Following his retirement, he hauled fertilizer seasonally for Farm Co-op's in Waseca and Stewartville.

Clifford enjoyed hunting and fishing, summers at the lake near Deer River, MN and winters at Wagon West RV Park in Salome, Arizona. He also enjoyed visiting casinos. He loved his family and was known as "Growly Grandpa" by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Verona Prigge of Rochester, MN; children, Perry (Roxie) Prigge of La Crosse, WI, Pamela Amundson of Rochester, MN, Jill (Garrett) Bondhus of Mantorville, MN, Jack (Bobbi) Prigge of Ionia, IA; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; lifelong friend Jim Stucky of Kasson, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Jacqueline (Andrew) Haneca; son, Bradley Prigge; grandson, Parker James Prigge and infant great granddaughter, Noelle Prigge.

A Memorial service for Clifford will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A reception will follow at the Ranfranz and Vine Remembrance and Reception Centre.
