Corey Krohn

Corey C. Krohn, age 55, of Rochester, MN passed away on April 28, 2024 as a result of an automobile accident.

Corey Christopher Krohn was born April 2, 1969 in St. Peter, Minnesota to Wade Krohn and Kristy (Volk) Krohn Fredrickson. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1987 and attended Mankato State University. He worked a short time as an optician in Mankato then changed his career path. He was a construction foreman for PCI Roads for 15 years and worked on the Highway 52 project. He also worked for MnDOT as a materials tester, and was currently employed as an engineering technician for the City of Rochester. On October 25, 2015 Corey was united in marriage to Kelly Higgins at the Plummer House and made their home in Rochester.

Corey lived his life to the fullest and was a very devoted husband, father and friend. He loved doing anything outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He always looked forward to yearly ice fishing trips with his best friend, Kevin. What meant the most to Corey was his family and being a Dad to Wyatt, Sam, and Olivia. He was a member of the NRA and the Byron Sportsman's Club.

Corey is survived by his wife, Kelly Krohn of Rochester; children, Sam Whelan, Olivia Whelan and Wyatt Krohn; father and stepmother, Wade (Donna) Krohn; half siblings, Lucas, Kami and Kyra, his parents in law, Marion and Kevin Clark, his brother in law Jason (Sue) Higgins, his sister in law Maureen Travis, his uncle Roger Hendrickson and aunt Diane Hendrickson, aunt Kathy Ballman, and many extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Kristy Fredrickson, paternal grandparents Roy and Faye Krohn, maternal grandparents Vera and Russell Anderson, and uncle Larry Ballman.

A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, Rochester, MN. A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, May 17, 2024 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN and one hour prior to the service.
