After schooling she moved to Rochester, MN and began working at Mayo Clinic. Cindy met her husband, Donald, in Rochester and they were married on February 16th. They remained happily married until his death in 2006. When her daughters were born, she was a stay-at-home mom and provided daycare for neighborhood families. Once her daughters were older Cindy wanted something to do and started working early mornings at Target where she remained until retirement. Cindy enjoyed traveling, gardening, spending time with family and friends and most of all time with her granddaughter. The last years of her life Cindy moved to Benedictine Living - Madonna Towers, eventually residing in the Gauthier Memory Care Unit. There she was known for her smile and a sparkle in her blue eyes. She is survived by immediate family, nieces, nephews, brothers, and her in-laws. Cindy's daughters would like to thank the extraordinary staff and caregivers at the Gauthier Memory Care Unit for their compassionate care. They would also like to thank Mayo Clinic Hospice for their assistance and expertise in the last few months of her life. In lieu of flowers the family wishes for donations to be made in memory of Cindy Squier at https://www.benedictineliving.org/rochester-mn/foundation/.
