Daniel Bennett

Daniel Lloyd Bennett, age 65 of Rochester, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024. He was born on January 13, 1959, in his hometown of Rochester, Minnesota, to proud parents Roger and Marcia (Lovejoy) Bennett.

Dan was a dedicated, hard-working, and hard-playing individual. After a 43-year career with IBM - Rochester, Dan retired in 2021.

He married Sherry Bossart on December 8, 1978, in Rochester. They remained married for more than 45 years.

During his spare time, Dan enjoyed fishing, daily updates from his children and grandchildren, social hours of all sorts, and cooking for large groups. In his younger days he was also an avid bowler, golfer, and woodworker.

Dan will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Sherry; children Christopher (Ivana) Bennett and Catherine (Jeremy) Martin; brother Stephen (Mary) Bennett; sister Patricia (Jay) DeSart; grandchildren Natalia Bennettova, Anna Bennettova, Jackson Bennett, Cora Martin, and Josephine Martin; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held 5:30 - 8:30 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at VFW Post 1215, 2775 43rd Street NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Please bring a story to share.
