Darlene Kitzerow

Darlene Kitzerow, age 81, of Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025, with family by her side.

She was born on July 18, 1943, in Hartford, WI, the daughter of Robert Wirth and Aurelia (Neitzel) of Juneau, WI. Darlene grew up and attended school in Juneau, WI. She married Charles Kitzerow on September 30th, 1978 and lived in Beaver Dam, WI before moving to Rochester, MN. Darlene loved her many years working as a nurse, traveling with her husband, and planning many parties to celebrate birthdays, retirements, and holidays for her family. She loved boating, cooking, and polka dancing. She was never afraid to try new hobbies such as roller blading, ceramics, painting, and quilting.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Chuck; seven children, Patricia (Ralph) Gerlach, Deborah (Dennis) Wichinski, Lori (Ronald) Tolsma, Michele Mays, Scott Kitzerow, Christine (Steven) Benson and Sara (Blane) Beebe; 16 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service for Darlene Kitzerow will be held from 10:30-11am on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Resurrection & Life Lutheran Church, 4520 19th Ave NW, Rochester, MN followed by a Celebration of Life from 1:00-4pm at the Rochester Eagles Club, 917 15th Ave SE, Rochester, MN.

It was Darlene's wish that instead of sending flowers, a charitable donation be made to Shriners Children's or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
