David Cutshall

David (Dave) Everett Cutshall, 89, of Rochester, MN passed away on May 5, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Hospice in Rochester surrounded by family. Dave was born in Rochester, MN on January 25, 1932 to Lynn and Mary (Nadolski) Cutshall. He attended Rochester High School. After graduating high school he played football at Macalester College and in 1955 received his Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He married Gretchen Gentling of Rochester in 1951. They had eight children together and were divorced in 1976. Dave was married to Annie Graber from 1984 to her death in 1987. In 1993 Dave met Karen Jones who remained a dear friend until his death. After graduating college Dave worked as an Aeronautical Engineer with Honeywell and McDonald Douglas in California. In 1958 he and his family moved back to Rochester and joined IBM as a Mechanical Engineer where he retired after 34 years of service. His favorite pastimes included flying as a general aviation pilot, boating, skydiving, sports, and being with family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pammy; sister, Ann; brother, Don; and wife, Annie. He is survived by his seven children, Dan (Cheryl) Cutshall, Cathy (Bruce) Resell, Bob (Shirley) Cutshall, Tom (Mary Ellen) Cutshall, Brad (Sue) Cutshall, Bill (Tawny) Cutshall, and Greg (Kathleen) Cutshall; brother, Rich Cutshall; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and his partner, Karen Jones. The family is planning a private ceremony at Ranfranz and Vine. Memorials are suggested to The American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
