Rochester- Funeral Services for Donald C. Boliou, age 80, will be held at Rochester Assembly of God Church at 10:00 A.M Saturday, October 23, 2010 with Rev. Bruce Kallies officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors provided by American Legion, Wm T Mc Coy Post. Visitation will be on Friday evening at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes from 5:00-7:00 P.M.; and then at the church on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service. Donald died at St. Marys Hospital on Monday, October 18, 2010Donald Clair Boliou was born in Rochester, MN. October 8, 1930 . He grew up in Rochester and attended Central School. Donald married Dorothy G. Colsen October 27, 1951 in Rochester. She died in 1987. Donald served in the US Army as a cook, and was a member of the US National Guard for 20 years. Donald cooked at the Kahler Hotel from 1945 until he retired in 1992. He rode bike all over Rochester and for his retirement the Kahler gave him a new bike and a microwave. The microwave because he didn't cook at home. He was an active member of Assembly of God Church and helped in the Kitchen serving coffee and roll most Sunday's between services. He was a volunteer at the Mayo Clinic for 10 years. He was also a member of Caring Partners at the Salvation Army. Donald is survived by a son Tim Boliou (Jean) of Zumbrota, MN. Granddaughter, Noel Boliou of Northfield, MN and Grandson, Gabriel serving in the US Military. And a daughter Sue Ann Boliou of Oronoco, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter Dureen and a Brother Kenny.
