It is with great sadness that the family of Donald (Don) Lindgren announces his passing on July 12, 2025, peacefully holding his wife's hand in his home in Rochester, MN. He lived a fulfilling life for 80 years.
Don was born March 27, 1945, in Rush City, MN and grew up on his family's farm in Forest Lake, MN. He went to school at Northwestern Technical Institute in Minneapolis, MN, and moved to Rochester, MN in 1965. Don worked as a dedicated employee at IBM, Pemstar, and Western Digital. When he retired, he worked as a substitute paraprofessional in the Rochester Public Schools. When he was not working, he enjoyed rebuilding classic cars, playing with his children and grandchildren, as well as building and restoring furniture. Don could be found looking under the hood of cars at car shows, riding his motorcycle, working outdoors, fishing on Lake Comfort, and going to Indy car races. He was a member at Bethel Lutheran Church for 55 years and enjoyed singing hymns with his mellow bass voice.
Don was a devoted, and caring husband, brother, father, uncle, and grandfather. Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Deidre (Benjamin) Lindgren, his surviving siblings, Myrtle Brandvold and Robert (Chris) Lindgren, his children, Laura (Michael) Dusso, Bill (Thess) Lindgren, and Kari (Abe) Sackett, his grandchildren Alexarae Sackett, Mason Sackett, and Ben Lindgren, and several nieces and nephews.
