Duane Kari

Duane Kari, age 60, passed away on January 9, 2026.

Duane was born on March 30, 1965 in Virginia, MN to Richard and Darlene (Salo) Kari. Duane graduated from Mayo High School in 1984 and went to Rochester VoTech and graduated from the Building Utility Maintenance program. He will be remembered for his love for animals. Particularly dogs, which he was known to say he understood them more than people. He had a passion for the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, boating or even just being near the water. He spent countless hours on the Mississippi in Wabasha. Duane was known for his willingness to drop everything to help out others in need. He did have the ability to fix just about anything he touched, which earned him the reputation of a go to fix-it-man.

He is survived by his son Bryce, mother Darlene, and brother Darrell. He was preceded in death by his father Richard. There will be a celebration of life on April 18, 2026 at Whistle Binkies On the Lake from 1 to 4pm.
