Edward Berry

May 11, 1960 — May 29, 2025

Edward was born in Mora, MN to Marvin and Theresa Berry. He graduated from Isle high School and was part of the wrestling team. He was a heavy equipment operator, and crane certified. He spent the last decade of his career working for Minneapolis Department of Public Works where he made lifetime friends. In 2005 Edward met Ivy from the Philippines, they lived together in 2009, and later got married in 2011.

Edward has a son and daughter from a previous marriage, Will and Myndi Berry as well as two children with his wife Ivy, Kin Berry and Queen Golden Berry.

Edward used to love strolling with his Harley bike and loves attending events for the biker's association. He also enjoyed traveling and eating different cuisines with Ivy and the children. He was very grateful to the Philippines nurses who took care of him with his wife who is also a nurse. Edward was a kidney and pancreas x 3 transplant recipient for 27 yrs.

He was very grateful to Dr Jo-Anne Young of University of Minnesota, his transplant infectious disease doctor for many years. And to Dr. Ryan Giddings Connolly of Mayo Clinic, his primary care physician, for the great medical and compassionate care he received.

Edward was loved by many Filipinos. They make him his favorite lumpia and cassava cake! He was very thankful and happy for all the barbecues, picnics and events he got invited to.

He is survived by his mother, Theresa; wife, Ivy Berry; and children, Kin, Queen and Will and Kristy Berry and Myndi and Brian O'konek, grandchildren Cameron and Abby; sisters, Diane and Kristen (Ed, Holly) Grap; and brother, Roy (Amy) Berry and children. He is preceded in death by his dad, Marvin; uncles, Bill and Eugene; aunt, Rose; and his grandparents.

He will be truly missed, especially by his wife Ivy, who he calls "my wife forever and to eternity". As well as his daughter who he calls "my golden child". He will be missed by many friends, especially Tom (Deb) Hanson, as well as sniffly missed by Lucky Yorkie Dorkie and cuddly missed by Louis Balinese.

Edward died in Ivy's arms in his sleep, peacefully at their house.
