Ella Rudlong

Ella Jane Rudlong, age 93, from Rochester, MN, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, April 14, 2024, receiving her angel wings.

Ella was born on January 25, 1931, in Belgrade, Minnesota. She was the eldest of six children of Everett Earl Tebay and Ethel L Tebay (Jero).

Ella is survived by her immediate family, including her seven children: Russell (Nelda) Rudlong, Marlys (Donald) Miller, Richard (Kim) Rudlong, Jon (Julie) Rudlong, Mary Rudlong, Denice (Todd) Beaver, and Diane Rudlong. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren, as well as other family members and friends who became family.

Ella will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She had her hands full with seven children but always made time for the kitchen, where she loved to make homemade donuts, cherry wink cookies, and everyone's favorite "No Bake Cookies". Ella pursued various careers throughout her life, ranging from waitressing to personnel manager with Woolworth company. When asked about what was most important to her, Ella would always answer that it was her family. She was an avid reader, known for finishing a book in one sitting, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her loved ones.

Ella loved to go dancing every Saturday night, especially when the "Top Notchmen" were playing. She also enjoyed crocheting in her spare time, making slippers, washcloths, afghans, and early 19th-century Victorian ball gowns.

Ella touched so many people with her sassy humor, silly jokes, compassion, and acceptance. Ella was a giver and would do anything for anyone.

Viewing will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM in the Ranfranz chapel.
