Ellen Christine Enzler Meyer, age 71, a lifelong resident of Rochester, MN passed away on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at Cottagewood Senior Living Communities in Rochester, MN. She was born on September 25th, 1952 in Rochester, MN to Vernon Clark and Jane (Bolton) Clark. Ellen attended and graduated from Mayo High School in the class of 1970. She then completed two years at Mankato State University in Mankato, MN. She would end up completing her nursing degree with Graceland College receiving a Bachelor's degree. Before entering the nursing field, she became the first female zoo keeper at Oxbow Park where she loved to spend time with all the animals and teach all the children about them. Ellen then went into nursing where over the years she worked at Olmsted, Mayo Clinic, Season's hospice and Cardinal. She was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester where she sang in the choir for many years. Ellen loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, and riding horses. She also enjoyed rollerblading where she won 10 awards. She even learned how to ride motorcycle. Ellen was able to provide nursing help with her son after he had suffered a stroke.
Ellen is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Jane Clark; and infant son, Aaron.
She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Terry Meyer; sons, Ryan (Ashley) Enzler and Trenton Enzler; siblings, Linda (Bob) Wagner, Margaret Gleason, Jim (Patty) Clark, and Laura (Mark) Saxton; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Molly, Bridget, Patrick, Amy, Jenny, Cara, Megan, Sammy, James, and Andrew.
A memorial service for Ellen will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 13th, 2024 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN) with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
