Evelyn June Finnegan

Evelyn June Finnegan, age 91, of Rochester, MN passed away on Friday, January 30th, 2026 at home surrounded by her family in Rochester, MN.

June was born in Dalton, KY on February 22nd, 1934 to Archie and Rebecca (Tyner) Thompson. She was one of six children, all girls. She graduated from the Swedish American Hospital Nursing program where she worked there for a short time following graduation. She then went on to work at the Dixon, IL hospital. She was united in marriage to Donald Finnegan on August 20th, 1960 in Dixon, IL. Together the couple had six children, Patrick, James, John, Mary, Margaret, and Tom. June was proud of her nursing career. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was always happy to lend a hand or care for her grandkids.

June is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Rebecca Thompson; her daughter, Mary; infant son, John; and sisters, Shirley and Jan.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Don; her children, Patrick (Jenny) Finnegan, James (Meg) Finnegan, Margaret (Arlen) Forsch, and Tom (Regan) Finnegan; 12 loving grandchildren; and her sisters, Dot, Betty, and Chris.

A Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30AM on Monday, February, 9th, 2026 at Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester, MN (11 4th Ave SW, Rochester, MN 55902). No visitation will be held.
