Garry Nash

June 24, 1959 — December 27, 2025

With a heavy heart, Garry LeRoy Nash., 66, took his final ride & traded his Harley for a set of wings (most likely with custom flame decals) on December 27th, 2025, after a valiant battle with the only thing he couldn't outrun: the inevitable.

Garry was born June 24th, 1959 to the late Donald Nash and Sharon (Minnich) Yennie in Waterloo, Iowa.
Also proceeded in death his brother Larry Nash and his late wife Tammy (McColley) Nash.
He is survived by his siblings; Steven Nash, Vickie (Nash) Moen, Terry Nash, Sherri (Nash) Schneider and Bobie Jo (Yennie) Stevens. His children; Jessica Stailey (Brand Ingalls), Kat Bicknese (John Bicknese), Kayla LaKay Nash (Brandon Schuette) and Sarah Marie Nash, along with a vast network of family and friends.

Garry was many things to many people: an artist, an engineer, a jack of all trades, dedicated road warrior, rough around the edges with a heart of gold, and he never missed an opportunity for a sharp, smartass comment and somehow, the guy everyone in town knew. His presence made the world feel a bit more interesting, a bit louder and a lot more fun.

There will never be another Garry, with his unwavering compassion, as he was "OLD SCHOOL" to the very end-he would help anyone with anything & never expect nothing in return-a straight "PAY IT FORWARD" type of dude, weather it was paying for strangers groceries or someone behind him in the drive-thru. But above all, he was a spectacular jokester(smartass), a man who believed that if a joke couldn't make someone spit out their drink, it wasn't worth telling. His endless water fights (cause ya know, he started it), a sucker-punch to the shoulder & you were lucky if you escaped his "swirly's" or being thrown into the snowbank/or snowballed. He approached life with the slyest, most memorable shit eating grin and a talent for telling you exactly what was on his mind, usually with perfect comedic timing. His smart-ass sense of humor will ride throughout each and every one of us.

Garry taught us to live life fully, cherish our loved ones fiercely, and to always take the long way home. He loved the freedom of the open road, a good leather jacket, shit-kicking boots while making sure everyone was safe, taken care of and maybe a little bit offensive. As he often said, "Stop whining, you big, ball baby-bed wetter".

In true Garry fashion, we've planned his "ROAST" on Friday, January 2nd, 2025, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home from 1-2:30 pm. Followed by a luncheon @ Garry's place one last time. We considered catering the event with Mountain Dew, Dead Man's Coffee and T-Bone Steaks (a nod to Garry's elite culinary preferences), but we figured maybe no one really wants to eat that at a funeral, so we surfaced some sammich's & water instead. Come share a story, a laugh, and a final "Rest in Peace, you Old Bonehead".

Ride on, Garry. The open road is yours now, and the angels are probably already wondering what hit them.

"It was a great ride!"
