Gary Engle

Gary Marvin Engle of Rochester, MN passed away peacefully surrounded by family December 2nd at St. Marys Hospital at the age of 77. Gary was born June 5, 1946, at St. Mary's Hospital to Helen and Clarence Engle.

Gary Graduated from John Marshall High School in 1964 and lived in Rochester all his life.

Gary worked at IBM as a quality engineer for 30 years until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, especially duck hunting, fishing and a love for the outdoors. He knew every square inch of Lake Pepin and there wasn't a walleye that didn't fear him.

In 1993, Gary married Julie. Together, they enjoyed adventures including wintering in Texas, many outdoor activities, camping, bonfires and many, many fish stories.

But most of all, Gary and Julie enjoyed growing their faith in God together. Especially with their church family at Emanuel Lutheran Church.

Gary is survived by his wife Julie, Sons Alan (Angi), Dean (Lori Jean) and Jason (Gina). Julie's children Jill (Kevin) Mike (Becky) Tim (Lori). Thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three siblings Mike, Sue, and Bob.

Services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 8, 2023 at Oasis Church in Rochester, Minnesota with visitation one hour before the service at the church. Entombment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Memorials are preferred to Emanuel Lutheran Church Building Funds.
