Glenn Charles Lilleskov, age 91, of Rochester, passed away September 22, 2023, at the Waters on Mayowood in Rochester, MN.

Glenn was born on February 20, 1932, in Rochester, MN, the son of Leonard and Nora (Pries) Lilleskov. Glenn attended Northrup Grade School in Rochester and graduated from Rochester High School in 1950. He attended Rochester Junior College before attending the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, graduating with honors in 1957. He did his dental internship at Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Glenn served in the US Army as a Captain from 1957-1960. During that time, he was stationed in Paris, France. Following his time in the Army, he began a Mayo Clinic Fellowship in Oral Surgery, during that he decided he wanted to pursue general dentistry and opened a private dental practice in Rochester in 1962. While practicing he was often referred to as a kind and gentle dentist who was wonderful with children. He retired from dentistry in 1999.

Glenn was united in marriage to Mildred Medin on September 9, 1956, in Mondovi, Wisconsin. Recently they celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. He referred to her as the best thing that ever happened to him. Glenn and Mildred enjoyed traveling throughout the world and United States. Also, he enjoyed growing and showing orchids, fishing, backpacking in the Wind River Mountain Range in Wyoming and hiking. Glenn was a member of the Minnesota Dental Association, the Rochester Dental Association and Peace United Church of Christ.

Glenn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, survived by his cherished wife, Mildred; children, Jenifer (Tom) Boyer, of Jackson, WI and Anne Lilleskov, of Fridley, MN; three grandchildren Joshua (Bridget) Boyer, Ryan Boyer, and Brittany Boyer; and Great-grandson Braeden Boyer. Sisters- in-laws Della Works and Alice Winfrey and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carolyn Overend; brothers-in-law, David Overend, Carl Robert Medin, Harold Bulmer, and LP Works; sister-in-law Leona Bulmer; and nephew, Robert Works.

The celebration of life service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Peace United Church of Christ (1503 2nd Ave NE, Rochester, MN 55906) with a luncheon to follow. A private family burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery at a later date.

The family of Glenn Lilleskov want to express our deepest gratitude to the entire staff of the Waters on Mayowood, the caring team from Visiting Angels who cared for Glenn in his home for so many nights, Matthew Hutzel, Aegis physical therapist, who kept Glenn walking and "moving and grooving" until it was no longer possible, the Mayo Palliative Care team especially Nurse Practitioner Angela Luckhardt, APRN, C.N.P., M.S. and Dr. Ryan Giddings Connolly MD, and the entire Mayo Hospice Program Staff. Their kindness, love, patience, and care for Glenn will always be remembered. One of Glenn's last spoken words was "Thank you."

After his death, Mildred asked Jenifer and Anne to put Glenn's size 14 shoes back in the closet for a while and she said, "Those are big shoes to fill."

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to the Mayo Clinic Study of Aging: https://philanthropy.mayoclinic.org/donatemc.
