Gloria Rosencrants

September 28, 1931 — October 18, 2025

Gloria Rosencrants of Rochester, MN, passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of Ed Rosencrants who passed away on July 9, 2025.

Gloria was born in South St. Paul, MN to William and Ann Leimbek. She attended South St. Paul High School where she met the love of her life. Ed and Gloria were married on June 20, 1953 and 72 years later, they still exchanged love letters every Christmas.

Gloria attended the University of Minnesota majoring in art. She was a very accomplished artist, winning local and state awards. She was a freelance artist for K&K Realty, Edina Realty, and the Historical Societies of Rochester and Olmsted County. Over the years, Gloria's talents expanded into quilting and Norwegian Hardanger needlework. She received an award as a Norwegian Cultural Skills Specialist from the Sons of Norway.

Gloria was a Girl Scout leader for many years. She believed in giving girls the confidence and opportunity to succeed. She led all three of her daughters, and many other girls, from Brownies to First Class Senior Scouts.

Mount Olive Lutheran Church was a very big part of Gloria's life. A member since 1960, she sat on Altar Guild, volunteered for many activities, and donated her talents for fund raising events.

Gloria was enthusiastic about every social activity she engaged in. She played in golf leagues, bridge clubs, and enjoyed cross-country skiing. She and Ed could not be equaled on the dance floor. She loved her family, her friends, and her neighbors and taught everyone how to have fun and live generously.

Gloria is once again by Ed's side, holding hands, and maybe doing a little foxtrot.

Gloria is survived by daughters; Robin (Tom) Kleinert, Gail Cook, and Diana (Keith) Kressin. Five grandchildren; Justin (Heather) Cook, Chris Cook, Teddy Cook, Annie (Mike) Oldenburg, Jeff (Bryanne) Kleinert; and two great grandchildren: Henry and Malcolm Oldenburg.
