Gordon Dale Olson

Gordon Dale Olson, 87, of Rochester passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at his home in Marble Falls, TX. Gordon was born August 13, 1933 in Fillmore County, MN to Ingvald and Hilda (Eggebakken) Olson. He was a 1951 graduate of Peterson High School and a 1976 Graduate of St Mary's College in Winona, MN. On August 10, 1963 Gordon married Karen Arnold in Rochester, MN. Gordon is a retired City of Rochester Police Officer. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time in Northern MN at the cabin, hunting, fishing, canoeing putting up wood and feeding critters of all kinds. Family time was the most important thing in Gordons life, he loved his wife, sons and Grandchildren with his heart and soul. He did a lot of day care for his Grandchildren when they were little. As they grew older and participated in sports he never missed a game no matter what the weather. Gordon attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Karen of 58 years; sons, Tom (Crystal) of Byron, MN, Steve (Debra) of Lago Vista, TX; grandchildren Zachary, Lago Vista, TX, Sara (Bradley) Kohn of San Antonio, TX, Eric (Brie), Minneapolis, MN and Great-Granddaughter, Tenley Kohn, San Antonio TX Gordon is also survived by siblings Pat (Gary Schultz), Lanesboro, MN and Jean Allen, Winona, MN. He is preceded in death by his Parents, sister Delores and brothers Palmer and Lewie Olson. A celebration of Gordon's life will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2911 18th Ave. NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM until time of services. The Rev. Leo Endel will be officiating with burial at Oakwood Cemetery.
