December 3, 1980 — June 6, 2026

James "Jim" Chamberlain, 45, entered the presence of his Savior on June 6, 2026, surrounded by family.

He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend of fifteen years, Chayne, and their three children, Josh (11), Hailey (9), and Myla (5), who were the center of his world and the greatest joys of his life.

Some people leave an impression on those they meet. Others leave a mark on every life they touch. Jim was one of those rare people.

Above all else, Jim was a man of faith, a devoted husband, and a loving father. His faith shaped the way he lived each day. Through life's greatest joys and hardest trials, he remained steadfast in his trust in God, finding strength in his faith and sharing that faith with those around him. His faith was not simply something he believed, it was something he lived. Jim believed that every blessing, opportunity, and relationship was a gift from God to be stewarded for His glory and sought to honor God in all he did, trusting that his life was part of a greater purpose. Through his faithfulness, God used Jim to impact countless people's lives and journeys of faith were strengthened.

For fifteen years, he shared a beautiful marriage with his best friend and the love of his life, Chayne. His love for Chayne was evident to everyone who knew them. Through every season of life, every challenge, every adventure, and every blessing, he loved her faithfully and wholeheartedly. She was his greatest companion for nineteen years. Their marriage was marked by friendship, laughter, unwavering commitment, and a shared faith that carried them through every chapter together. To those who knew them, it was evident that Chayne held his heart from beginning to end.

While faith was the foundation of Jim's life, fatherhood was his greatest privilege. His children were his greatest pride and most treasured blessings. He taught them not only through his words but through his example, showing them what kindness, integrity, patience, humility, character, hard work, and unconditional love looked like. Nothing brought Jim greater joy than being their father. He was endlessly proud of each of his children, not for what they achieved, but for who they are. He celebrated every milestone, big and small, admired their unique gifts and personalities, and found immense joy in watching them grow. Above all, he made sure they knew every day how deeply they were loved and how proud he was to be their dad, and never missed an opportunity to make them laugh. The values he instilled in them, the love he showed them, and the examples he set will continue to shape their lives and stand as one of his most enduring legacies.

Jim had a remarkable gift for making people feel seen, valued, and welcome. In a world that often rushes by, Jim made people feel worthy of his time and attention. Whether you knew him for five minutes or forty years, he had a way of making you feel important. He listened more than he spoke, offered grace freely, and carried a calm strength that brought comfort to those around him. His willingness to help others was unmatched, and many who began as acquaintances quickly became lifelong friends.

He was known for his unmistakable sense of humor, quick wit, steady wisdom, strong character, and genuine kindness. He also loved music, reading, and creating memories with the people he loved most. Possessing a sharp mind and genuine curiosity, he found joy in learning and was always seeking to expand his knowledge.

Jim loved creating memories with his family and treasured every opportunity to spend time together, whether through family vacations, weekend adventures, or simply sharing everyday moments. He loved traveling and was blessed to explore much of the world throughout his life, creating unforgettable memories discovering destinations across the globe. Among his most cherished adventures was a journey around the world with Chayne, an experience that perfectly reflected their love of making memories, embracing new experiences, and sharing every adventure together.

Born in Peru, Illinois, Jim graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in 1999 before earning an Engineering Degree from Bradley University. Throughout his professional life, he built a successful career in manufacturing sales and marketing, earning the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his integrity, work ethic, and ability to build genuine relationships. At one point, his desire to serve others and strengthen communities led him to serve as a CEO of YMCAs, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping people and making a difference wherever he could.

For Jim, however, success was never measured by titles, accomplishments, or possessions. He believed that faith and family were what truly mattered. His greatest investments were the people he loved.

Jim is survived and deeply missed by his loving wife, Chayne, and their children, Josh, Hailey, and Myla; his parents, Steve and Andrea Chamberlain; his siblings, Lisa (and Chad) Kerestes; Steve (and Sara) Chamberlain; Mike Chamberlain; Christin (and Johnny) Mitchell; Chance (and Alyssa) Jones; Colt Jones (and Adrienne Lockwood); and Cordan (and Daniel) Beebe; and 25 nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Jim. He was deeply loved by his family, treasured by his friends, and respected by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, Jim's legacy lives on through the faith he modeled, the love he shared, and the countless lives he impacted along the way. While he will be deeply missed, his family finds peace in the promise of eternity and the knowledge that his story does not end here. The lessons he taught, the laughter he shared, and the example he set will continue to guide and inspire those who knew and loved him until they meet again.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 pm to 5 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Hidden Hills Winery located at 120 Hidden Drive, Galesburg, IL.
