James David Sackett

James David Sackett was born April 30, 1961 in Rochester, MN. He passed away at his home on August 31st, 2021. Jim graduated from Mayo High School in 1979. He was happily married to Diane Sackett who was his partner in life for 36 years. Jim was a proud sprinkler fitter for 40 years with Olympic Fire Protection and retired two years ago. Jim always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He had a passion for the outdoors, deer hunting and home improvement projects, especially ones at the cabin. Jim loved the game of hockey, and he never missed a single game that his boys played. His genuine spirit and down-to-earth personality will be remembered by all. Jim is survived by his wife, Diane; sons, Tom and fiancé Erin and Tony and girlfriend Molly; Parents Dave Sackett and Teresa Sackett; siblings, Kim (Paul) Sackett-Rowekamp, Joni (Tony) Canney, Ann (John) Bikus, John (Nikki) Sackett, and Sarah Mason (Tom Hoel). He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and many members of the Rochester community. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN). Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 6th, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home as well as one hour prior to the service.
