Janis Loy Stadheim (Nee Pierson) passed away during the sunrise of February 8th, 2026. She was 88 years old.
Janis was born on September 24, 1937, to Clifford and Ida (Madson) Pierson and grew up in Albert Lea, MN with her brother, Paul. She graduated in 1955 from the Albert Lea High School and enjoyed the performing arts as a concert choir singer and orchestra viola player.
She continued her education at the Minnesota School of Business and had a passion for reading and current events.
Janis married John Stadheim on August 17, 1957, and was a loving wife for over 59 years. They raised their 3 children in Rochester, MN and contributed to the community with generosity, kindness and tradition.
Janis was employed for many years with the Rochester Public School and supported her family and children daily in their routines and activities.
Janis loved to travel and play golf. She enjoyed living life to the fullest and some of her favorite pastimes included bowling, snowmobiling, arts, dancing, music, cooking, fine dining and shopping.
She especially enjoyed summer on the lakes with her family and friends, and the many memories shared with her. She brought elegance and grace to the world, and she will be deeply missed by those she has touched in life.
Janis loved all of her family members and friends and is survived by her son, Jason (Terryl Griffin) Stadheim of Lake City, MN; daughter, Jennifer Lucas (Scott) of Rochester, MN; son-in-law, Edward Idzorek of St. Louis Park, MN; 4 grandchildren: Jenna Stadheim, Brianna Lucas, Katelyn Lucas, Richard Lucas; 1 great-grandchild Marvin; and sister-in-law Dorthy Pierson. She was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ida Pierson, husband John Stadheim, daughter Julie Idzorek, grandson Joseph Stadheim, and brother Paul Pierson.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 810 3rd Ave. SE, Rochester, MN, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
