Jason Robert Goodman

November 20, 1971 — June 2, 2026

Jason was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Goodman and Marilyn Goodman (Heller). He is survived by his children, Mikayla (Skyler) Cloonan, Michael Goodman, and Madelyn Goodman; his grandchildren, Ryker, Lincoln, and Aria, who he loved beyond words; his siblings, Jerrod (Dawn) Goodman and Christy (Brad) Finke; nieces and nephews Nace (Cheawon), Rylee, Brianna, and Erik; and his loyal dogs Bella, Sage, and Kaos.

An avid roofer by trade, Jason was known for an unmatched work ethic and the pride he took in providing for the people he loved. Of all the things he accomplished in life, nothing mattered more to him than his children and grandchildren.

Anyone who knew Jason knew exactly what kind of man he was. Friends would describe him as the life of the party - the guy who could make an entire room laugh without even trying. His humor was blunt, dry, unapologetic, and usually followed by one of his legendary phrases. Whether it was "Stop me when I'm lying," "Hey, f*** you," or his infamous response to "What's up?" - "My weiner when I'm next to you" - Jason never missed an opportunity to get a reaction out of people.

Jason didn't believe in filters, sugarcoating, or pretending to be someone he wasn't. He told it exactly like it was, whether you were ready to hear it or not. But underneath the rough edges was a man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation if he thought you needed it. You didn't even have to ask.

Outside of work, Jason loved fishing, shooting pool, spending time with family, and loudly cheering on the Minnesota Vikings every chance he got. Win or lose, he stayed loyal to his team. He valued real people, honest conversations, and making memories with the people closest to him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Mazeppa Municipal Building, located at 113 1st Ave N, Mazeppa, MN 55956. Jason would probably hate an overly polished goodbye, so we'll leave this simple and honest, just the way he would've wanted: Tell the truth. Work hard. Love your people fiercely. Laugh whenever you can. And one final "f*** you" from J. Bird himself.
