Jean-Ellen Janice Bemmert

Jean-Ellen Janice Bemmert, 87, of Rochester, MN, passed away at her home on March 15, 2026.

Jean was born on October 21, 1938, in Rochester, MN, to Lester and Pearl (Boysen) Patchin. She grew up in the Rochester area and graduated from Rochester Senior High in 1956.

Jean had a full life, working as a nurse aide at Worrell Hospital for 10 years, followed by 5 years at Libbys, and then dedicating 22 ½ years to Waters Instruments. On January 19, 1963, she married Lyle C. Bemmert at Zumbro Lutheran Church, and together they raised their family in Rochester.

Jean had a passion for reading, crossword puzzles, and, of course, quilting. She also loved camping trips, cooking up family favorites, and baking delicious treats for everyone she loved. She made her home a warm and welcoming place, filled with laughter and love.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her son John (Dawn) Bemmert and her daughter Janice Bushinski. Jean was a proud grandmother to Linsay Bushinski-Hameister, Dusty Bushinski, Nicole Bakken, Bobbie Jo Bemmert, and Skylar Schad. She also cherished her great-grandchildren: Madison Swenson, Colton Hameister, Benjamin Bakken, Joseph Bakken, Parker Bemmert, and Paige Bemmert. In addition, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lyle, her daughter Jody Lynn, and several siblings: Ardella Bamlet, Lucille Barrone, Berniece Cogswell, Genevieve Rother, Burton Patchin, Carol Yeadon, and Verne Patchin.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in High Forest Cemetery.
