Jean Ione Koenig

Jean Ione Koenig, 91, of Oronoco, MN died on November 17, 2022 at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center in Plainview, MN. She was born on May 4, to Albert and Esther (Briske) Siewert. Jean attended Pine Island School. On June 10, 1948, she married Ivan K. Koenig, and they had one son, Anthony (Tony). They farmed in the Oronoco area and Jean worked for 30 years for Donaldson's and Carson Pirie Scott Department Stores. Jean loved flowers and her cats, but her greatest joy was cooking and baking for family. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Vikings and Twins. Jean had many friends whom she loved dearly, and if you had ever met Jean, you would know why! She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oronoco. Survivors include one brother, three step-grandsons, cousins, and many good friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and one brother. Funeral Services will at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oronoco, with Pastor Roger Riedel presiding. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oronoco Cemetery. We would like to thank the staff at Green Prairie Rehabilitation Center for all the care and love you gave Jean through the years. She loved all of you like family.
