Joanne Inez Hemmer

Joanne I. Hemmer, 85, of Rochester, MN died peacefully with family at her side at Samaritan Bethany Assisted Living Facility on Friday, November 12th, 2021. Joanne was born on March 3, 1936 to Arthur and Verliene (Shoden) McAlister in Austin, MN. She was a 1954 graduate of Austin High School. She then married Wayne D. Hemmer on August 23, 1954 in Austin, MN and the couple moved to Rochester, MN. Joanne enjoyed singing, ceramics, and especially taking care of her grandkids and great-grandkids. Joanne is survived by her daughter, Susan (Dennis) Mueske of Rochester, MN; her sons, Brad (Julie) Hemmer of Rochester, MN and Rick (Jackie) Hemmer of Rochester, MN; six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; her brothers, Wayne (JoAnne) McAlister of Mesa, AZ and Paul (Kathryn) McAlister of Rochester, MN; as well as nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; and her parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Pl. NW, Rochester, MN 55901 with Dr. Paul K. McAlister officiating the service. A visitation will take place 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2021 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Austin, MN. Memorials may be made to Pine Haven Christian Assembly or Pioneer Bible Translators.
