A Celebration of Life for Judy will take place on Saturday, May 25th, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church (1100 South Linneman Road) in Mount Prospect, IL. Following the Celebration of Life will be a rebroadcast of the Memorial Service that was held earlier in Rochester, MN. Burial will take place at the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery at 12:00 pm.

Judith Ann Berschet, age 83, of Rochester, MN, peacefully passed away on Thursday, December 7th, 2023, at Edenbrook in Rochester, MN. She was born on November 27, 1940, in Chicago, IL, to the late John and Ruth (Linnemann) Moehling.

Judy attended St. John's Lutheran Church and Grade School before graduating from Arlington Heights High School in 1958. In 1960, she joyfully married Robert Berschet, and together they were blessed with four children: Sara, Ruth, Rob, and Katherine. The couple purchased Riley View Farm in Marengo, IL, where Judy embraced the roles of a devoted mother and hardworking farm wife.

Judy's days were filled with a myriad of tasks, from sewing and knitting to canning and tending to her garden. She had a passion for quilting, Scrabble, and was an avid Bridge player. She cherished the time spent with friends and her husband, engaging in activities such as snowmobiling and bowling. Judy actively contributed to her community, serving on the Riley grade school board, leading a 4-H group, and mentoring Campfire Girls.

Her dedication extended to her faith, serving as a church secretary and being an active member of both Trinity Lutheran Church in Genoa, IL, and Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester. Later in life, she pursued higher education at Rockford College, earning a degree in Business with an emphasis in Finance.

Judy's legacy is that of a truly remarkable woman known for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering devotion to family and community.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Moehling, and her sisters, Carol Hattendorf, Betty Moehling, and Rose Schellin.

Judy is survived by her loving children: Sara Beth Berschet of Laurel, Maryland; Ruth Ann Kauls (Scott) of North Oaks, MN; Robert John Berschet (Helen "Penny" Burdick) of Marengo, IL; and Katherine Ann Berschet Nelson (David) of Rochester, MN. Cherished grandmother of Emily Zorn, Martha Kauls, Brendan Kauls, Lizzie Kauls, Logan Nelson, Ryan Nelson, and Grace Nelson. She is also survived by twenty-one nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of Judith Ann Berschet's memory. May she rest in peace.
