Judy M. Vicker, 73, Rochester, MN died on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at St. Marys Hospital following a stroke.
Judy was born on May 2, 1952, and grew up in rural Byron, Minnesota, where she attended the local schools. She completed her nursing education in Rochester, equipping her with the skills that would define her career. She faithfully served in various capacities, including nursing roles at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester, Olmsted Medical Center, Olmsted County Public Health and nursing homes in Dodge Center, MN and Tama, Iowa. Her unwavering commitment to caring for others was evident in every part of her life.
Judy was an avid quilter, an amazing cook, enjoyed bowling and gambling and especially loved dogs. She cared deeply for her family and friends, hosted many family holiday celebrations and loved to give gifts. Judy enjoyed attending her son Stacey's football games and later her granddaughter Mia's volleyball and softball games.
Judy is survived by her son Stacey (Ursula) McGuire of St. Charles; granddaughter Mia McGuire; step grandson, Matthew (Olivia) Schultz, step great granddaughter, Hattie Schultz, and siblings, Mary Lou (Darrell) Koch, Sheila (Larry Crowe) Campion, Danny Vicker, Lisa (Tim) Lee, Randy (Jill Fredrickson) Vicker, Leonard Vicker, and two half-brothers, Art (Sharon) Merkel and Gary Lyke. She is preceded in death by her parents Palmer and May (Merkel) Vicker, sisters Sherry Ochocki, Shelley Naatz and Brenda Vicker. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews as well as many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Place NW). A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes as well as an hour before the service at the funeral home.
As we gather to honor and remember Judy's remarkable life, we invite all who knew her to join us in celebrating the love and joy she brought into our lives. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
