Julia Eleanor Waadevig

Funeral services for Julia E. Waadevig, 96, of Apple Valley, MN (formerly of Rochester, MN), will be at 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester with the Rev. Vern Christopherson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester. Julia Eleanor Brunner was born on January 25, 1914 in Rushford, MN to George and Alma (St. John) Brunner. Julia died on July 9, 2010 at the Augustana Health Care Center in Apple Valley, MN. Julia married Gilmer Waadevig on July 21, 1934 and she worked for the State Hospital in Rochester for 25 years. She performed many hours of volunteer work and received many awards. She also served on the auxiliary board for Samaritan Bethany Heights and served as President. Julia was a member of Zumbro Lutheran Church and enjoyed her women's bible study group. She enjoyed making lefse, crocheting, knitting and playing cards.Survivors include her son, Glenn (Ann) Waadevig of Longview, WA; her daughters, Alice Elliott of Chatfield, MN and Mary (David) Petersen of Bloomington, MN; 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse and her daughter Mildred.
