June Delores Oakland

June Delores Oakland, 86, of Rochester, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, surrounded by family.

June was born on June 8, 1939, to Wayne and Louise Barton in Rochester, Minnesota. She grew up rooted in faithfulness, selflessness, and kindness-virtues that shaped the way she lived her entire life.

She married her beloved husband, Ronald Duane Oakland, on June 20, 1959, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Rochester, Minnesota.

A lifelong member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, June's faith was at the heart of who she was. Her steadfast faith was reflected through her many years working in dietary services at Saint Marys Hospital, founded by the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi Heights, from 1978 to 2001.

Known by all who loved her as the sweetest soul, June was always cheerful, compassionate, and comforting to everyone she knew and met. She had a gentle way about her that made people feel seen and cared for. She found joy in the simple things of life: attending Mass, animals (particularly cats), flowers, the Minnesota Twins, recycling, walking around Silver Lake, staying active, and listening to country music on her radio. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with family.

June is survived by her two sons, Roger (Julie) Oakland of Rochester, and Robert (Laura) Oakland of Rochester; her seven grandchildren, Douglas Oakland, Rebecca Sheffer, Malinda Barthel, Dana Srp, Wayne Oakland, Danielle Jacobson, and Erin Oakland; and her eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved deeply.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald "Ronnie" Oakland; her son, Kenny "Burr Head" Oakland; her parents, Wayne and Louise Barton; and her brother, Pat Barton.

June's legacy will always be remembered through her devotion to faith, family, friends, and fondness for all of God's creations. She is deeply missed and will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN 55901).

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 10:30 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church (1315 12th Ave NW, Rochester, MN 55901). A luncheon will follow.
