Kathryn S. Litehiser, age 98, of Rochester, MN passed away June 23, 2021 in Rochester, MN. Kathryn was born in Duluth, MN on October 7, 1922, the daughter of Warren and Virginia (Moore) Starkey. She was a graduate of Central High School in Duluth. Kathryn graduated from Lasell University in Auburndale, MA. On February 14, 1944 she married Warrant Officer Glenn R. Litehiser. They lived in Deming, NM where Kathryn worked at an army airbase as a medical secretary. After the war, they then moved to Seneca, SD where Glenn owned a grain elevator. The couple adopted two children, Susan and Jon. Her husband Glenn suddenly passed away in 1967 and Kathryn then moved to make her home with her sister Virginia Thompson with whom she lived for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jon Litehiser; and two brothers, Howard Starkey and Thomas Starkey. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Litehiser of Superior, WI; her sister, Virginia Thompson of Rochester, MN and five nephews, three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, July 10th, 2021 at Christ United Methodist Church (400 5th Ave SW, Rochester, MN 55902) with Pastor Nancy Wheeler Handlon officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth, MN. Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or donor's choice.
