Kathy Parkin

Kathy J. Parkin passed away on June 13, 2025, at the age of 70.

Kathy was born on May 10, 1955, and graduated from Kasson High School in 1973. She married Randy Parkin on September 15, 1973, and together they created a life in Byron, Minnesota.

Kathy dedicated many years to working in the food service department at Byron Schools. Outside of work, she liked bowling, camping, and fishing, and found joy in her garden. Kathy loved spending time with her two granddaughters, Aislinn and Ariana. A true sports fan, she passionately supported the Twins and the Vikings.

Kathy is survived by her husband Randy, her sons Joel (Crysta) Parkin and Justin Parkin, her brother Roger (Renee) Horsman, her sister Dee Dee (Jason) Halvorson, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Kathy's life will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home (5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901). Burial will be at the Byron Cemetery at a later date.
