Kenneth William Ziemer

Kenneth W. Ziemer, 85, of Rochester, MN passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at Rochester Restorative Care Center.

Ken was born October 26, 1940 on the family farm in Fremont, MN the son of Albert and Hilda (Peterson) Ziemer. He attended grade school at Fremont Elementary and graduated from Lewiston High School. Ken was united in marriage to Katherine Luehmann on November 24, 1962 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lewiston, MN. Ken worked as a press operator at CRENLO for 40 ½ years.

Ken was a member of North Prairie Lutheran Church in rural Rushford, MN, St. John's Lutheran Church in Lewiston, MN and Resurrection Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. Ken enjoyed woodworking, old John Deere tractors and taking road trips. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Ken is survived by his three sons, Matthew (Renee) Ziemer of Dover, MN, Eric (LuAnn) Ziemer of Pine Island, MN, and Owen (Kimberley) Ziemer of Eyota, MN; seven grandchildren, James (Jennifer), Joel, Kelly (Tyler) Stahl, Adam (Ashley), Alec, Valorie (Bowdrie) Kimery and Luke; great grandchildren, Owen Lecy, Zander Ziemer and Henry Stahl.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine; sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Donald Strelow; brother and sister-in-law, Marlin and Gladys Ziemer.

A funeral service to celebrate Kens's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 4520 19th Ave. NW, Rochester, with Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice or to Resurrection Lutheran Church in memory of Ken.
