Larry Pusc

May 27, 1942 — September 9, 2025

Larry Walter Pusc of Rochester, Minnesota, died at 83 on September 9, 2025, while having lunch with his wife and friends at Grandma's Kitchen. A special thank you to Bernie and Nina Saletel, Irene Maze, RPD Chaplin, Sarah, and the St. Pius Catholic Church community for their grace and care in the immediate moments after Larry's sudden passing.

Larry was born in Little Falls, MN, to Walter and Selena, and was the youngest of three children. Larry's mom passed away when he was two years old and so early on, he learned the importance of being able to entertain and take care of one-self and embracing the love around him. He spent his youth growing up on various farms in Little Falls and loved to share stories of his youthful shenanigans with all that would listen - he was a great storyteller, and his family has heard some classics repeatedly and loved reliving the memories with every share. He enjoyed spending time with his family, loved ones, caring for animals, and staying informed about current events.

One of his first jobs was working for a mom & pop grocery store, and later for a boat company painting stripes on boats before relocating to the Twin Cities in search of new opportunities. He promptly secured employment at a grocery store, although this position lasted only four hours. The "silver lining" in this is it led to his career of more than 36 years with IBM in Rochester.

While in the Twin Cities area, he was reacquainted with the love of his life, Sharon. They married in October 1967 and started a family soon after. Larry was a devout Catholic and was a member of St. Pius Catholic Church for almost fifty years. He served with the Knights of Columbus and took immense joy in volunteering, whether with the church, his community, the 4-H Club, or just to help someone in need. He enjoyed playing cards, board games, trivia, hunting for golf balls, watching his TV shows, going to movies, reading, and traveling. While family was a priority for him, he had a large circle of friends and enjoyed casino trips, dining out, and other activities that kept them connected. Larry's smile and infectious laugh easily brought people into his circle of loved ones.

Dearly missed, and survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon, their children, Kelly (Dwaine), Rochelle (Calvin), Brian (Jen), Steve (Tia), his grandchildren, Ali (Brian), Tatyana (John), Zach, Cody, and Elise (Will), brother, Leroy (Jan), brother-in-law Danny (Connie), and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Walter and Selena, parents-in-law, Harold and LaVonne, twin sons, sister Rose, granddaughter Nadia, and other loved ones.

The funeral mass will be on Friday, September 12, 2025, at St. Pius Catholic Church, 1315 12th Ave. NW, Rochester, Minnesota. Visitation will begin at 9am with a Catholic mass funeral commencing at 11am. A luncheon to follow in Founders Hall. Please join us in remembering and celebrating Larry - bring a delightful story with you! Larry has chosen cremation with a columbarium at Calvary Cemetery with a bench close by for those that visit to sit and talk with him for a while.

The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to the American Heart Association, the Alzheimer's Association, or The Rochester Knights of Columbus Council #14574. The latter is known for its "Adopt a Widow" program, which provides social contact and practical support to the widows of deceased council members.

Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Pusc family.
