Linda Strassburger

November 2, 1933 — March 17, 2024

Linda Dorris Strassburger was born in Dallas, Texas, on November 2, 1933, to her parents, Grace Ivy and John Ray Dorris. She shared her childhood with her brother John William, forming cherished memories in their hometown.

After completing her education at Sunset High School in Dallas, Linda pursued her passion for learning at The University of Texas at Austin, where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in 1955. Along her life's journey, Linda dedicated her career path to being a devoted homemaker and mother.

On November 30, 1963, Linda embarked on a new chapter as she married William Norbert Strassburger in Dallas, Texas. The couple welcomed two children, Stephanie Strassburger Faubion and William Kenneth Strassburger. Linda found joy in witnessing her family grow and flourish, finding happiness through the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.

Linda was an active member of several organizations, including Alpha Phi International and positions such as Treasurer in various clubs, showcasing her commitment to community and service.

Linda enjoyed simple pleasures in life such as playing bridge, immersing herself in books, and embarking on adventures, with Italy holding a special place in her heart among all the destinations she explored.

As her journey continued, Linda resided in different cities, including Dallas, Fort Worth, Rochester, and finally settled in Jacksonville, Florida, where she resided until her peaceful passing on March 17, 2024.

She is survived by her daughter Stephanie Strassburger Faubion, MD, MBA, her son William Kenneth (Julie Barlow) Strassburger and grandchildren Madeline, Erin, & Laura Faubion, and Mary Claire Strassburger.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John.

Rest in peace, Linda, your spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
