Lloyd Prescott "Scott" Lynch, age 78, of Rochester, Minnesota died Monday, May 19th, 2025, at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester, MN.
Lloyd was born on August 10, 1946, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to Eunice (Baker) Lynch and Lloyd P. Lynch. At the age of 12, he and his family moved to Hammond, Minnesota, and his father started work at IBM.
Lloyd graduated from John Marshall High School in 1964 and soon after enlisted in the Navy, serving honorably on the USS Salisbury Sound before being discharged in 1967. Upon returning to Rochester, he began a long and rewarding career with RPU, working on the underground crew and eventually becoming the maintenance supervisor at the Silver Lake Plant, from which he retired in 2006.
In September 1973, Lloyd met his wife Carol, and the two were married on October 5, 1974, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Racine.
Lloyd is survived by loving wife of 50 years, Carol; his children Carol Lee Lynch, Cory Lynch, and Sara (Wayne) Grieves, as well as his cherished granddaughter, Everly, with whom he shared countless joyful moments as a devoted papa.
He is also survived by his brother, Ross (Ruth) Lynch; sisters, Nancy (Bruce) Lohn, Terri (Russ) Hoesley, and Maureen (Bob) Birch. He was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.
Lloyd enjoying the great outdoors through hunting and fishing, as well as pursuing his hobbies of building model airplanes, army tanks, and model railroads, and reading.
Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Lloyd Lynch; and brothers-in-law Ed and Robert Wellik.
A memorial service for Lloyd will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 23rd, 2025 at Grace Lutheran Church (800 E Silver Lake DR Rochester, MN) with visitation from 9:00 AM until the service time at church. Burial with military honors will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Stewartville, MN.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Cottagewood Senior Communities and Mayo Hospice for their loving care of Lloyd during this time.
