Lois Mae (Zank), 87, of Grand Meadow, MN died expectantly on Saturday, June 10,2023. Lois was born May 17, 1936 in Rochester, MN the third of five daughters to Arthur and Marnice (Hein) Zank. She grew up in the Rochester area and a 1954 graduate of Rochester High School. On June 3, 1956 she married Robert Kuehn at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN. They had two daughters Debra and Diane. In 1962, Robert suddenly passed away. A few years later she met Cliff Leinenger through Solo Parents and she and her girls moved to his Dexter, MN farm to live with him and his two boys. She gardened and picked strawberries and raspberries on the farm. They enjoyed fishing trips to northern Minnesota and camping trips to the western states. Lois did food and product demos at local grocery stores, sometimes with her younger daughter Diane. She created many lovely embroidery pieces, pillowcases, and table clothes. She also enjoyed watching soap operas (Another World), game shows, and doing jigsaw puzzles and word puzzle books. In 2016, her dear longtime companion Cliff Leinenger passed away. Lois moved to Grand Meadow assisted living and two years later she moved to the nursing home side. While there she was a regular bingo player and enjoyed the various activities. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, three sisters, and her dear companion Cliff. Lois is survived by her daughters Debbie (Brian) Lady of Austin, MN and Diane (Ted) Streit of Stacyville, IA; grandchildren, Brad and Rachel Lady of Austin, MN and Matt Streit of Mason City, IA; sister, Donna Wilcox and nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Grand Meadow Nursing Home for the wonderful care she received and for making it a special place to live for Lois. There will be a funeral service at 11:00 AM on Thursday June 15th, 2023 at Redeemer Lutheran Church (869 7th Ave SE, Rochester, MN 55904) with a visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Pleasant Prairie Cemetery in Rochester, MN.
