Lyle Bacon

Lyle Lester Bacon, 90, of Rochester, MN passed away on August 15, 2025 at his home surrounded by family.

Lyle was born on July 16, 1935, to Lloyd and Viola (Bremseth) Bacon in Fountain Township. He graduated from Rochester High School in 1953. He was in the United States Marines from 1954 until January 26, 1957. On June 27, 1959, he married Dorothy Louise Myhre. He retired after a long career at IBM.

Lyle enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood carving.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Dorothy; sons, Jamie (Krista), Joel (Maran), and Jon (Phyllis); 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by baby son, Jeffrey Allen Bacon; his parents; brother, Leonard; and sister, Wilma Fitzgerald.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Zumbro Lutheran Church (624 3rd Ave SW, Rochester, MN 55902). Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN 55901) as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will take place at 3PM in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Spring Grove, MN.
