Marcellene Susan Erickson

Marcellene Susan Erickson, age 90, of Rochester, MN, passed away on April 6, 2026, at Regions Hospital. Marcellene was born on April 27, 1935, in Bellechester, Minnesota, to Alexander George Tri and Dorothy Susan (Poncelot) Tri. She attended school in Mazepa before later moving to Rochester. Marcellene dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She was a devoted homemaker and played an essential role in tending to the family farm. In addition, she worked as a cook at St. Mary's Hospital, as well as earned her certified nursing degree and worked at the Stewartville Care Center. She was previously married to Adrian Erickson, from whom she later divorced. She later became engaged to Anton "Andy" Peterson. Marcellene found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved gardening, horseback riding, taking walks, and traveling or going on cruises with Andy. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren. Marcellene is survived by her children, Kelvin (Mary) Erickson, Mark (Offir) Erickson, and Deborah (Donald) Dow; as well as seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Wilfred, Robert, Richard, and Oswald; her former husband Adrian Erickson; and her fiancé, Anton Peterson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 222 1st Ave S, Mazeppa, MN. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
