Mark Kenneth Deneve

Mark K. DeNeve, 59, of Spring Valley, MN, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, after a dignified battle with cancer. The result was a draw. Cancer beat his body, but not his spirit. Mark was born in Norway, MI, to the late Kenneth and Marilyn DeNeve. Mark remembered growing up in Ironwood, MI fondly and believed that he couldn't have grown up in a better place. Mark graduated from Luther L. Wright High School, Gogebic College, and Lakeland College. Mark earned his MBA from Newman University in Wichita, Kansas. Mark was a natural leader who led by example and with compassion. Over his career he held various engineering and management roles at Control Data, Cray Research, Western Digital, Celestica, and LSI Logic Storage Systems. Mark concluded his career as GM at Celestica Rochester, MN. On October 24, 1996, Mark and Faith (Matthews) were married in Kasson, MN. Mark and Faith had an unbreakable bond for over 26 years. The couple especially enjoyed their campsite on Lake Chetek, WI, spending time with friends and family camping, boating, and sitting by the campfire. They also have happy memories of all the time they spent on their acreage in Spring Valley, MN. Mark was the strong foundation of his family and tried his best to support everyone. His children know that he loved each one of them and he wasn't afraid to tell them when he was especially proud of them. He will be missed endlessly. His children will love him forever, like him for always, and as long as they are living, their Dad he will be. Mark enjoyed many hobbies including hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. Mark was a talented musician and played in many bands throughout his life. He was an avid concert goer, and enjoyed attending Rock Fest in Cadott, Wisconsin, annually with friends and family. Whether it was helping someone build a deck, landscaping, caring for the lawn, or grooming the trails on his property, Mark took special care in the quality of all projects big and small. In his lifetime, Mark was most proud of the deck he built onto their home in Andover, KS. It was really something to see. He is survived by his wife, children: Mark (Joe) DeNeve, Kendelle (Sean) Hanke, Laura (Eric) Heyde, Kayla Rollins, and Lindsey Smith; his grandchildren: Logan, Emma, Blaise, Riley, Aden, Adelynn, and Gavin, and special companion, Shae the black poodle. There will be a visitation on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
