Mary Jean Kaul

Mary Jean Runge Kaul passed away on Friday, March 6 at her home in Oronoco, MN. Mary was born August 30, 1942 to Carl and Evelyn (Moulton) Runge, in New Haven Township, Pine Island, MN. Mary grew up on a farm with parents and siblings (Larry & Kay) and with her Grandma Tressie Runge whom she loved dearly.

Mary attended Pine Island school. She graduated from High School at the age of 16 and went to work for Pine Island Cheese Producers in their office. She married Arthur Ray Kaul on September 10, 1960. Art passed in December 2022. Art & Mary built a new home on 100th street (east side of 52 Oronoco Township) and then later purchased and moved to their current farm on 90th street in 1972. They enjoyed 62 years of hard work, love and family.

Survivors include children Debra Kaul, Julie Swanberg (Dan) and Brian Kaul (Joy); Grandchildren Krista (Mike) Curlee, Jacob (Erin) Kaul, Emily (Dayton) Embree and Mitchell Kaul; Great grandchildren: Carter & June Curlee; Mckinley Embree; Siblings Larry (Vicky) Runge & Kay (Bradley) Swarthout; Brother-in-Law: Jim Krudwig & many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester, MN (5421 Royal PI NW) on Tuesday, March 10 from 5 to 7 pm. The funeral will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Oronoco on Wednesday, March 11th at 11:30 am with visitation at the church 1 hour prior to service. Burial will take place at Oronoco Cemetery, Oronoco, MN.
