Michael Ablan

Michael R. Ablan passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St. Mary's Campus.

Michael was born on February 5, 1969, in Tampa Bay, FL. He later moved to Minnesota where he graduated from Tartan High School. Immediately following graduation, he joined the United States Army serving from August of 1988 to May of 1996, finishing in the National Guard. Upon being honorably discharged, Michael spent much of his career working as a Security Officer.

Michael enjoyed collecting stamps and was a big movie buff. His family would describe him as a kid at heart. He loved remote control toys and tinkering with things around the house.

He is survived by his Fiancé, Melissa Cascino; her children Carter and Autumn; Stepdaughter, Kelsey (Jordan) Berg; Son, Michael Ablan Jr.; and Brother, Robert Hegner Jr.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lori Ablan-Hegner; Stepfather, Robert Hegner; and late wife, Geri, as well as his grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
