Muriel D. de Vaal

Muriel Delores Strege was born on July 21, 1931 in Milbank, South Dakota to William and Myrtie (Berkner) Strege. She passed away on February 3, 2024 at Rochester Methodist Hospital.

Muriel attended rural schools in Albin Township, Grant County South Dakota. She married Stanley de Vaal on July 3, 1955 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milbank. The couple moved to Rochester, Minnesota in the fall of 1960. Muriel worked for National Tea Grocery, Mayo High School and Hy-Vee North. She enjoyed sewing and was a wonderful seamstress. She enjoyed camping and gardening.

Survivors include her husband, Stanley of Rochester; sons, Douglas and Gregory of Rochester, and Jon of Minneapolis; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Pamela and four sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church 222 6th Ave. SW, Rochester. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
