Myrwyn Gail Brown, age 94, of Rochester, MN passed away August 30, 2021 at Rochester Health Services East in Rochester. Myrwyn was born April 3, 1927 to Cleo and Winifred (Boyer) Brown in Ida Grove, Iowa. He grew up in the Ida Grove area along with his five brothers and three sisters but also spent time up in northern Minnesota. Myrwyn attended school up until 8th grade and then began working. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. On February 23, 1952 he was united in marriage to Jane Kiesel and the couple enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Myrwyn worked as a lineman for Chicago Great Northwestern Railroad until he began working as construction foreman for a cable company, where he remained through 9 name changes, starting with Rochester Video. Myrwyn enjoyed watching sports, growing his tomatoes and peppers, and playing cards, especially with his grandchildren. He was a Boy Scouts leader and coached Little League baseball for many years here in Rochester. Myrwyn is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jane; and his three sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his five children. Sons, Steven (Edie) Brown of Rochester, MN, Greg (Shirley) Brown of Rochester, MN, Brian Brown of Rochester, MN, Brent (Kate) Brown of Mankato, MN; and daughter, Deb (Dan) Dye of Eldora, IA. As well as fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. A funeral service for Myrwyn will take place Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 at 11:00am at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW Rochester MN). Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
